                                                         “We are a young firm that was given an incredible opportunity,” said
                                                         David Bagnoli, AIA, a principal at StudioMB, of the Pier 4 project, an
                                                         office building on a pier at one end of the ambitious Wharf project. The
                                                         firm’s other principal, Adam McGraw, AIA, quickly added, “And at
                                                         every turn, it was more difficult than anything we’ve ever done.”
                                                                 When the Wharf’s planning started over a decade ago, Pier 4 seemed a
                                                         bit like an afterthought, located at the far southeastern end of the mile-long
                                                         project. At only 30,000 square feet and three stories, it is dwarfed by the
